2018 Leadership Lexington County Class graduates and raises $40,000+ for Scooter Scott Project

Leadership Lexington County Class of 2018 celebrated a major milestone with a graduation for contributing over $40,000 to the Scooter Scott Project this past year. The Class sought donations of local businesses and others to achieve the goal of providing priceless items for the Scooter Scott Project.
The Scooter Scott Project touches the lives of more than 1,000 families in Lexington County with GED preparation, before/after school programs, mentorship and leadership programs.
The 2018 LLC class raised funds to provide a Jacob’s Law Bus to the Scooter Scott Project which allows students to be easily transported to events, classes, and after-school programs. LLC also supplied 19 new-age computers and a curated website for the Scooter Scott Project, so that students can develop highly-sought after computer skills, develop resumes, and work to achieve their GEDs.
The Leadership Lexington County Class of 2018 selected the Scooter Scott Project, a faith-based organization that assists Lexington County kids in middle and high school become leaders within their community. The Scooter Scott Project also helps students obtain their GED, teaches students life skills, and takes them to events throughout the year.
The 37-member LLC class volunteered in several ways that have directly assisted the mission of the Scooter Scott Project, such as neighborhood clean-ups, life-skills coaching, mentoring, tutoring and fundraising.
In an effort to better the community in which they live, work, and serve, Leadership Lexington County is a non-profit educational organization that offers a stimulating program design to develop leaders within Lexington County. Made up of local professionals from wide-ranging career paths and industries, Leadership Lexington County participants select a charitable or non-profit organization each year and volunteer their time for the betterment of the organization.
The Leadership Lexington County Class of 2018 graduated this past Thursday, January 10th, while the 2019 Class was also welcomed into this year’s program.
