February 28, 2019The 2019 ColaJazz Festival lineup features 2X GRAMMY-award winning trumpeter and Musical Director of the legendary Count Basie Orchestra Scotty Barnhart, sultry and fiery Brazilian vocalist Liz Rosa, smooth jazz saxophonist Dante Lewis and the exciting gypsy jazz outfit Flat Out Strangers featuring vocalist Joelle Kittrell. From gypsy, smooth, Brazilian to straight-ahead jazz standards, the 2019 ColaJazz Festival is an incredible blend of the best jazz has to offer!
The 2nd annual ColaJazz Festival is presented in partnership with the Senate (formerly the Music Farm Columbia). The Senate will be transformed into a welcoming jazz club complete with cocktail table and theatre style seating arrangements, a VIP section, mood lighting throughout and more. A full bar and food menu will also be available the entire night.
ColaJazz brings internationally recognized jazz stars to Columbia, SC while also highlighting and celebrating Columbia’s own jazz talent. The 2018 ColaJazz Festival was a SOLD OUT event and featured hometown hero, GRAMMY-nominated, and revered saxophonist Chris Potter. It was Potter’s first return performance to Columbia in over 10 years! Longtime Wynton Marsalis saxophonist Wess Warmdaddy Anderson performed
as well. ColaJazz has also brought to our capital city the world-famous Delfeayo Marsalis and legendary saxophonist Dave Liebman through the annual summer jazz camp.
ColaJazz’s mission is to support and grow jazz in and around the capital city and endeavors to foster a thriving arts community. The CMFA (Columbia Music Festival Association), the 501(c)(3) fiscal agent for ColaJazz, adds an additional layer of opportunity for sponsors & donors.
