2025 marks GMK’s new leadership appointments to guide the firm’s next generation of service and growth

GMK Associates, Inc., a mainstay design and construction services firm based in Columbia, SC, announced the formal transition of Thomas M. Weiland, AIA, NCARB, Jeffrey W. Bernagozzi, PE, LEED AP, and Barry Morgan, CCM, into new key leadership positions and as primary owners of the firm. This transition represents an exciting new chapter for the company’s operations and bolsters GMK’s dedication to client-focused and innovative integrated services, as well as commitment to our local communities.
Tom Weiland has assumed the role of Board Chairman & President, responsible for setting the overall vision, goals, and objectives of the firm. He further serves as GMK’s president of architecture. Jeff Bernagozzi has been named Chief Executive Officer (CEO), responsible for the firm’s business strategy planning and oversight. He is also the firm’s president of engineering. Barry Morgan has been named Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for implementing actions and tasks that align with business strategies and managing all operational aspects of the firm. Barry’s role includes serving as president of construction services.
