4-H’ers Win Regional Titles
August 29, 2023The South Carolina 4-H Program has announced the winners of the 2023 4-H Small Garden Project. Two Laurens County 4-H members were regional winners for the Upstate of South Carolina.
Brooklyn New (13) of Waterloo won first place in the Junior Division and Morgan Means (15) of Simpsonville won first place in the Senior Division. In addition, they were the first place winners for Laurens County.
The Small Garden Project gives 4-H members the opportunity to maintain a garden and grow their own food. Participants receive seeds and/or transplants and keep track of their harvests by completing a record book. This is scored on the county level and then sent to the state 4-H program to determine statewide and regional winners.
