5th Street Group announces rebrand for 5Church restaurants
December 6, 2021Following the highly successful opening of Church and Union in Nashville, Tennessee, 5th Street Group announced today the expansion of the Church and Union Brand to Charlotte, North Carolina and Charleston, South Carolina. 5Church Charlotte and 5Church Charleston will retire their names on December 31, 2021, and reopen for the new year on January 1, 2022, as Church and Union Charlotte and Church and Union Charleston – complete with new logos, signage and refreshed menus.
Open for dinner, brunch and lunch, several of the restaurants’ key elements, including the hand-painted ceiling showcasing the written verbiage of Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War” by artist Jon Norris and the signature five-dollar-bill paintings by artists Matt Hooker and Rodney Raines, will remain the same. 5Church Charlotte and 5Church Charleston will retire several menu items, including the 5Church Lamb Burger, the 60 Second Steak and the Viper, and introduce new items such as the CU Burger, which has quickly become a staple at Church and Union Nashville.
“5Church has been an extraordinary brand, and we are very proud how far it has come. Our success has been a testament to the brand itself, our guests and the people who have been part of its story,” shares 5th Street Group partners Patrick Whalen, Alejandro Torio and Chef Jamie Lynch. “The 5th Street Group intends to continue expanding this story by moving on to Church and Union; a brand that, while in its infancy, has all the makings of something truly inspiring. We hope you will come along for the ride. CU soon.”
The name, “Church and Union,” was inspired by the Nashville restaurant’s location, which is appropriately situated in between Church Street and Union Street. 5th Street Group has announced plans to expand the Church and Union brand to Denver, Colorado, in 2022. As part of the restaurant group’s recent 10-year lease extension in Charlotte, 5th Street Group will also undertake a major renovation of Church and Union Charlotte, formerly 5Church Charlotte, in 2023. 5th Street Group owns and operates Tempest in Charleston, Church and Union in Nashville, La Belle Helene in Charlotte and Ophelia’s, which is opening in Nashville in 2022.
