Steering Committe selects Ferebee Lane + CO. for Gaston County Image Campaign

December 9, 2015

A steering committee of Gaston County leaders has named Greenville, South Carolina-based Ferebee Lane + Co. agency of record for strategic development and creation of a new image campaign for Gaston County, North Carolina.

The steering committee, with the support of the non-profit Greater Gaston Development Corporation (GGDC), conducted a competitive qualifications process and interviewed a number of local and regional communications agencies to discuss strategic opportunities for branding and marketing the county.

The goal of this broad-reaching initiative, as outlined in the request, is to develop an authentic, relevant and results-generating brand and image campaign for Gaston County. The steering committee determined after several rounds of proposals, reviews and agency interviews that Ferebee Lane + Co. was the agency to do just that.

“The steering committee was highly-impressed with Ferebee Lane,” said GGDC Executive Director Mark Cramer. “Their demonstrated experience working with a wide range of products, services and communities will be invaluable, as will their focus on identifying and articulating authentic, compelling brand positions. Gaston County is a great place to raise a family, work, and play in one of the most dynamic regions of the country, and I am sure this image campaign will be a success.”

“Gaston County means a great deal to me,” said Matt Ferebee, principal and creative director for Ferebee Lane + Co.  “I have deep family roots in this area and am thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with the steering committee and the GGDC on such an important project. For us, this is much deeper than a typical image campaign, it’s a chance to help create a position and perspective that the entire community can rally around and support.”

Ferebee Lane’s first step is to begin reviewing all of the existing marketing materials for the county and for county organizations. The team is also soliciting input and opinions from community stakeholders, including many volunteers who were involved in the development of the Alliance for Growth Plan.  This process is expected to extend into January when positioning and strategy work will begin.
