Pawmetto Lifeline offers camps for animal-loving children

May 28, 2018

Pawmetto Lifeline will host four sessions of its popular Fur Friends Summer Camp this summer in June and July. Fur Friends Summer Camp is the perfect opportunity for children to learn about pet companionship combined with valuable lessons about the humane treatment of domestic animals.

To appreciate domesticated furry friends, participants will learn the history of cats and dogs and how they have become the companions we know them as today. Aside from being our pals, canines have been utilized in some amazing roles as “working” animals. Campers will explore potential jobs for dogs and discover what kind of training is required for a “working” dog. Felines will also receive attention during these sessions with various lessons exploring cat behaviors and interactions. Fur Friends participants will spend time one-on-one with some of adoptable pets to learn various aspects of pet ownership.

Sessions are $150 per child per session segmented by ages 5–7 and 8–12 to effectively present lessons which engage their level of comprehension.

About Pawmetto Lifeline

Pawmetto Lifeline is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit animal rescue organization with a plan to end pet overpopulation in the Midlands through education, legislation, spay/neuter programs, and responsible pet adoptions. Pawmetto Lifeline’s long-term goal is to transform the Midlands into a no-kill community, meaning no healthy adoptable pet is euthanized simply because it is homeless. For more information, please visit www.pawmettolifeline.org.
