Classic Toasted Western Sandwich

  • 1 large egg, whipped with a forkToasted Western Sandwich
  • Pinch salt and pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. onion, chopped fine
  • 2 Tbsp. cooked ham, cut into small cubes
  • 2 slices whole grain bread
  • Butter
  • Cooking Spray (optional)

Directions: 

  1. Heat small nonstick pan over medium heat (coated with small amount of butter or cooking spray).
  2. Add salt, pepper, onion and ham to whipped eggs and pour into pan.
  3. Allow egg mixture to set.
  4. Meanwhile, toast bread.
  5. Flip egg mixture to cook on reverse side until liquid is gone.
  6. Butter one side of each piece of toast.
  7. Place egg mixture between buttered slices of toast.
  8. Traditionally served dipped in ketchup.
