COLUMBIA, SC – June 16, 2009 – A Celebration of World Refugee Day will be held at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2009. The event is hosted by Lutheran Family Services in the Carolinas (LFS Carolinas) and will include art, food and dance performances from refugees who have resettled in South Carolina.

WHY: The United States continues to be the single largest refugee resettlement country in the world. The celebration in Columbia honors the many contributions made by refugees in South Carolina.
