Carolina Ballet Theatre Appoints New Executive Director

GREENVILLE, SC – May 29,2009 – Sallie Holder, board president of Carolina Ballet Theatre (CBT) has announced the Board of Directors’ selection for the professional dance company’s new Executive Director, Laura Hobbs of Greenville.

Holder first announced Hobbs ‘ appointment at CBT’s annual fundraiser, Emerald Evening, April 17, to a crowd of nearly 250 arts enthusiasts gathered at Zen. Hobbs officially began her position with CBT on April 29, 2009.

We’re thrilled to have Laura serve as our Executive Director, Holder said. She has already shown great dedication to our organization through her energy as a CBT guild member and board member.

Prior to accepting this position, Hobbs worked at The Cliffs Communities as their Membership Sales Executive for all eight properties.  She is a Clemson University graduate with more than 15 years experience working in membership and business development.   Hobbs is also the founding president of the Greenville chapter of Executive Women’s Golf Association.

In her new role, Hobbs will manage donor development, fundraising, marketing and public relations for the nonprofit’s 2009-2010 season.

I’m honored to take on a larger role with an organization that has been such an important part of my life, and our community, for so many years, Hobbs said. These dancers and staff have such talent and passion, and I can’t wait to help share that with those who already love – and those who have yet to discover – Carolina Ballet Theatre.
