Rivers Edge Forest Products, LLC to Locate in McCormick County

COLUMBIA, SC – March 7, 2008 – Central SC Alliance and McCormick County today announced that Rivers Edge Forest Products, LLC will locate a pole peeling operation in McCormick County.

The County’s proximity to raw products along with the accessibility of roadways and railways make it an ideal location for us. McCormick County has been most helpful in construction and start up phase.”
The company’s operations will encompass procuring pole timber, processing, and marketing the inventory.

The plant will peel the pole timber and cut it to vendor specifications. The peeling operations started January 10, 2008. Employment for this operation is anticipated between five to seven individuals initially. Presently, the Procurement Manager and Mill Manager have been employed. The remaining five positions will include equipment operators, scale operators and inventory management personnel.
