Former Shopify Plus executive joins Ellipsis Technologies as Vice Chairman

Ellipsis Technologies announced the addition of Jamie Sutton to the Ellipsis team. Jamie will immediately fill the role of Vice Chairman offering the company guidance on its eCommerce technologies.

Jamie started his career in commerce 18 years ago. As an early adopter of Shopify, he built a highly respected digital agency around the platform launching over 150 sites on Shopify.  He joined Shopify full time in 2011 as one of the first 90 employees. He soon moved to a pivotal role co-starting Shopify Plus in collaboration with Shopify leadership. Through the next 5 years Jamie influenced and built initial team structures, from enterprise merchant support, launch engagement, and solutions teams as well as alliances with large scale mid-market Agency and Technology Partners.  The result was one of the most vibrant e-commerce ecosystems in the market.

Ellipsis Technologies also announces today the next release of their Shopify Plus app focused on blocking all bot-based checkouts in the Shopify Plus eCommerce environment. The Shop Protector Plus technology is now available on the Shopify app store: https://apps.shopify.com/ellipsis-human-presence-technology as an adjunct to the Ellipsis five star Shop Protector TM app. The core app is a web security software technology that enables Shopify merchants to validate invisibly the presence of human visitors to their online stores while flagging and deflecting traffic from automated, and often malicious “bots.” With the Shop ProtectorTM Plus solution, Shopify Plus users can invisibly detect bot entry to the checkout system, block them and make use of other features including the ability to automatically cancel bot orders, initiate bulk cancels, to make refund/restock decisions automatically and send cancellation emails.

Unwanted site traffic from bots is a constant source of threat and irritation for eCommerce site owners and operators.
