Chernoff Newman hires five new associates

Chernoff Newman, a long-standing and leading integrated communications agency based in the Southeast, has hired a group of new team members as it prepares for unprecedented growth throughout 2022.

The agency is pleased to announce the hiring of five new associates: Chris Collesano, Theresa Cooper, Alex Hagg, Lucy Rios and Grace Singingheart.

“In order to evolve with company expansion and continue to meet our goal of exceeding client expectations, we are pleased to welcome five new associates to the team,” said COO of Chernoff Newman, David Campbell. “Each employee brings invaluable insight and talent to our agency and is committed to providing excellent services to our clients.”

Collesano will serve as the media director out of the Columbia, S.C., office. With over 26 years of experience, he has a vast background in account supervision, advertising sales, marketing and media. Recently, Collesano was an account executive for WLVL Radio in New York and media director and buyer for RH Power where he was responsible for the execution of media plans for clients in over 50 different markets. As director, he will manage the media team and focus on the planning, buying and strategy for all Chernoff Newman clients.

Cooper joins the creative team as a senior art director. With 25 years of experience, she has a keen understanding of the design process from creative ideation to implementation. Recently, Cooper served as freelance creative for Sport Dog Food and was an associate creative director for Mullen where she worked on accounts such as Unilever’s Tresemmé global account, Auntie Anne’s pretzels, Asheville Tourism and more. Based in Columbia, S.C., she will be involved in the oversight of creative products from conception to execution for clients and will guide team members throughout this process.

The Charleston, S.C. office welcomes Hagg who serves as a planner/buyer for the media team. She brings over six years of experience coordinating the strategic placement of varied media types to execute marketing campaigns. She recently served as a media buyer for The Brandon Agency. Hagg’s responsibilities include the planning, negotiation and placement of different forms of media. Along with this, she conducts media research to ensure that overall goals for client campaigns are met.

Rios joins the creative team as a copywriter and is based in the agency’s Columbia, S.C. office. She is an honors school graduate of Benedict College (Columbia, S.C.), where she received her bachelor’s degree in mass communication with a minor in marketing. Before joining the Chernoff Newman team, Lucy was a TRUE Serenity South Carolina marketing intern and a copywriting intern for Badger Maps. Most recently, she was an agency immersion intern at Chernoff Newman. In her new position, she will be responsible for a cross-channel of different creative products to ensure all copy is consistent and clear with the overall messaging strategies for clients.

Singingheart joins the digital team as an interactive project manager. Bringing 30+ years of experience, she is accredited with leading numerous successful business development and creative marketing campaigns for clients such Dual-Lite, Compass Products, Security Lighting and more. Recently, she served as an eLuminaire digital marketing manager for her company Blue Skye Holistic where she managed, developed and executed creative campaigns. In her new role, Singingheart will oversee the development, design and execution of websites for clients to ensure project goals are met by working with the design team to create and implement timelines, budgets and technical requirements.
