Mama Bears is an intimate exploration of two “mama bears” – conservative, Christian mothers who have become fierce advocates for the LGBTQ+ community – and a young lesbian whose struggle for self-acceptance exemplifies why the mama bears movement is so vital.

During Pride Month, The Nick is excited to partner with the South Carolina Chapter of Free Mom Hugs to provide this free screening to the public. After the film there will be a moderated panel discussion featuring local advocates, activists and LGBTQ community members.

Free Mom Hugs is a national 501(c)3 organization founded by Sara Cunningham to empower the world to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community through visibility, education and conversation.
