Reading, Writing and Skydiving at the Library
September 23 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
The Laurens County Public Library is wrapping up September with an exciting lineup of programs for both children and adults. Whether you’re interested in STEM, book discussions, or creative writing, there’s something for everyone.
The fun kicks off on Monday, September 23rd, with a Skydiving STEM program at the Laurens Library. Children ages 6-10 are invited to explore the science of gravity and air resistance by crafting their own coffee filter parachutes. This hands-on event begins at 4 p.m. and is sure to engage young minds.
On Tuesday, September 24th, book lovers can gather at the Clinton Library for a discussion of Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherworlds by Heather Fawcett. The book club, open to adults 18 and older, meets at 10:30 a.m. You don’t need to have read the book to join in and enjoy the conversation.
For those with a passion for writing, the Clinton Writers Group will meet on Wednesday, September 25th, at 11:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church’s library. Open to adults, this group offers a space to share your writing or simply enjoy the company of others who write.
Finally, the Laurens Book Talk will meet at the Laurens Library on Thursday, September 26th, at 6 p.m. to discuss Go as a River by Shelly Read. This book discussion is also for adults 18 and older.
All programs are free and open to the public. For more information, contact your local Laurens County Library branch.
