The Wildlife of Laurens County Photography Exhibit and Lecture

November 7 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Laurens County Museum is currently showcasing an extraordinary photography exhibit focused on the diverse wildlife of Laurens County. The exhibit, which runs until November 16, offers visitors an in-depth glimpse into the region’s rich natural heritage through the lens of acclaimed wildlife photographer, environmentalist, and historian Edwin Eugene “Gene” Ott. Known for capturing breathtaking images of local fauna, Ott’s work highlights the vibrant ecosystem that exists within the county. While only a select portion of his extensive collection is on display, visitors can view an extended selection through a video presentation in the exhibit hall.

A special feature of the exhibit includes a lecture series presented by Ott himself. Following the success of his talk on wild birds, which captivated attendees, Ott will return to deliver a final lecture titled “Mammals and Reptiles of Laurens County.” This presentation is scheduled for Thursday, November 7, at 7:00 pm. Ott’s expertise and passion for wildlife promise to provide an engaging and informative experience for all who attend.

The lectures are complimentary for museum members and individuals aged 18 and under. For non-members, a suggested $5 donation is encouraged to help support the museum’s mission and programming.

The Laurens County Museum, located at 116 South Public Square in Laurens, SC, welcomes the public to its exhibit hall Tuesday through Saturday, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
