The Unumb Center for Neurodevelopment welcomes Jessica Hudson as new Executive Director

December 11, 2024
The Unumb Center for Neurodevelopment is thrilled to announce the appointment of Jessica Hudson, BCBA, as its new Executive Director.

A native of Lexington, S.C., Jessica brings more than 16 years of experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to her new role. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a North Carolina Licensed Behavior Analyst.  Most recently she served as Director of Clinical Operations for the Autism Center of Excellence in Raleigh-Durham. Her impressive career also includes roles as Clinical Director at BlueSprig Pediatrics in Greenville and as Co-Director of Staff Development at Carolina Behavioral Specialists.

“We are delighted to welcome Jessica back to the Midlands to lead The Unumb Center during this exciting period of growth,” said Lorri Unumb, Founder and Board Chair of The Unumb Center for Neurodevelopment. “Her expertise in clinical operations, combined with her passion for serving individuals with autism and their families, makes her the perfect choice to guide us into the future.”

Since its founding in 2010, The Unumb Center for Neurodevelopment has evolved from a single program-the Autism Academy of South Carolina-into what it is today. The Center’s mission has always been rooted in providing exceptional ABA therapy and addressing gaps in services for the autism community.

In recent years, The Unumb Center recognized a growing need for services that extend beyond childhood, particularly for adults requiring long-term care.  To address this, the Center purchased a 10-acre property in Lexington earlier this year.  Known as Unumb Place, the new facility will house adult programs and provide residential services through six on-site homes.  Renovations are underway, and the Center anticipates welcoming its first residents in the spring of 2025.

“Unumb Place represents a significant milestone for our organization,” said Unumb. “We’re creating a community where individuals with autism can thrive throughout their lives, supported by tailored programs and compassionate care.”

“The Unumb Center is renowned nationally and globally for its impact in the autism community,” Hudson said. “It’s an honor to lead this organization as we expand our mission to serve individuals across all stages of life. I look forward to building on the strong foundation Lorri, the board, and her team have built.”
