October 14, 2025The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce has announced the members of the Leadership Charleston Class of 2026, marking the 53rd year of the region’s premier leadership development program. Among the distinguished class of over 70 professionals is Heather Studer, Director of Planning and Facility Use for Charleston County School District (CCSD).
For more than five decades, Leadership Charleston has provided an immersive, 10-month experience for participants to explore the complex issues shaping the Charleston region from infrastructure and economic development to education, government, and the military. Participants engage directly with community leaders and organizations, gaining deeper insights into the opportunities and challenges influencing the Lowcountry’s growth and success.
“Heather’s selection for Leadership Charleston is a well-deserved recognition of her dedication and impact,” said Anita Huggins, Superintendent of Charleston County School District. “Since joining CCSD in 2006 after graduating from the College of Charleston, she has devoted her entire career to serving our schools and community. Her leadership, professionalism, and collaborative spirit make her an outstanding representative of CCSD in this year’s class.”
“Heather’s leadership extends well beyond planning and facilities—she’s a trusted problem solver who brings people together to get things done,” added Jeff Borowy, Chief Operating Officer for Charleston County School District. “Her participation in Leadership Charleston will not only strengthen her professional network but also enhance the district’s ability to plan and grow in alignment with our community’s needs.”
Through hands-on learning and collaboration, participants in the Class of 2026 will develop a stronger understanding of Charleston’s interconnected sectors while building lasting relationships with peers across industries. The program has graduated thousands of alumni who have gone on to serve in key leadership roles throughout the business, government, and nonprofit sectors.
CCSD congratulates Heather Studer on this well-deserved honor and looks forward to the insights and partnerships she will bring back to benefit the students, staff, and families of Charleston County.
