The Choice Fair will provide in-depth information on four distinct, high-impact options designed to meet every family’s needs:
1. Magnet Programs (School-Within-a-School & School-Wide)
Discover high-demand Magnet options where your child can pursue their passions. Learn about the 14 school-wide magnets where the specialized theme drives the entire campus culture, and 23 school-within-a-school magnets that offer intensive, focused study tracks for smaller groups of students. Four specialized elementary Magnet Centers also offer focused learning environments from a young age.
2. The R2eSchool: Flexible, Rigorous Virtual Learning
For families needing flexibility without sacrificing academic rigor, the R2eSchool offers a high-quality, full-time virtual learning program for grades 6-12. This program features personalized learning pathways delivered remotely by certified Richland Two teachers, ensuring a tailored and rigorous online experience.
3. Richland Two AVID Early College: Earn a College Degree—Tuition-Free
This highly selective program is a direct pipeline to higher education. Rising 8th-grade students can apply to simultaneously earn their high school diploma and a tuition-free associate degree from the University of South Carolina-Sumter. This program saves families tens of thousands of dollars and gives students a significant head start.
4. Expanded Choice: Flexibility to Attend a Different School
Beyond specialized programs, the Expanded Choice option allows families to apply to attend any district school other than their residentially zoned school, offering geographic flexibility for convenience or preference.
The Choice Fair will also showcase the Richland Two Institute of Innovation (R2i2) Student Innovation Center. The R2i2 Student Innovation Center focuses on preparing students for the workplace, certification programs and/or higher education.
The online application process for all Choice options opens Monday, November 10, 2025, at 8 a.m., and closes on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 5 p.m. Families are strongly encouraged to attend the Choice Fair and specific Magnet Information Nights to make an informed decision.
