Revving Back Up: Laurens Electric’s Annual Motorcycle Run Rides Nov. 15
November 1, 2025On Saturday, November 15, Laurens Electric Cooperative will host its 2025 Annual Motorcycle Run.
After a 5-year hiatus, the co-op is excited partner again with the community to raise charitable funds, according to event organizer David Hammond.
“We’re seeing more of our neighbors in need these days, and the proceeds from events like this support several co-op initiatives that help people right here in the communities we serve,” he said.
This year’s event has one starting location and takes riders along Highways 14, 11 and 25. The 70-mile round-trip features the scenic natural beauty of the Upstate, along with mountain views.
Riders will receive tickets at each stop along the route for a chance to win up to $2,500 in cash prize drawings.
Where: The ride will start and end at Harley Davidson of Greenville and will include several locations where participants can rest and draw prize tickets.
Registration: $20 per rider and $10 per passenger. T-shirts will be available for purchase at the end of the ride.
Prizes: $2,500 in cash prize drawings. Winners will be drawn at the final stop of the ride at Harley Davidson of Greenville.
Time: Registration opens at 8 a.m. First bike out follows at 9 a.m. and last bike out is at 10 a.m. The ride will end at Harley Davidson of Greenville. Last bike in at 2:00 p.m.
Fundraising: All proceeds benefit the following charities:
- The Cooperative Caring Fund benefits the Baptist Crisis Center and the Golden Strip Emergency Relief Agency, which use the monies to assist co-op members who face challenges paying their utility bill.
- Through the employee Pay It Forward program, every Laurens Electric Cooperative employee is entered into a random drawing to receive $500 to pay forward in any way they choose. Each month a new name is drawn, and the employee then has one month to apply the funds toward their own act of kindness.
- The Community Impact Initiative, started in 2018, provides grants to local Chambers of Commerce intended for public charitable purposes that enrich the quality of life of citizens in the communities the cooperative serves.
In past years the ride has included more than 500 participants and raised upwards of $10,000.
“Every motorcycle that drives out of our starting location represents $20 dollars going to help those in need. Co-op employees volunteer to help manage the event, the riders have a great time, and together we are able to offer real and significant help in the communities we serve,” said Hammond.
