December public input meetings announced as outreach continues on future of Transportation Sales Tax program
November 25, 2025Charleston County officials have announced additional Transportation Sales Tax (TST) public input meeting dates as they continue to gather community feedback that will help shape a potential future extension of the TST.
The following meetings will take place in December:
West Ashley
Wednesday, December 3 – 6:30 p.m.
West Ashley Center for Advanced Studies auditorium
4066 W Wildcat Boulevard, Charleston, SC
Mount Pleasant
Wednesday, December 17 – 6:30 p.m.
Wando High School
1000 Warrior Way, Mount Pleasant, SC
Each meeting will serve as a listening session where county leaders will hear from the community, answer questions, and collect feedback on residents’ road, transit, and greenbelt priorities. Additionally, officials will deliver a short presentation on the TST program’s history and next steps as County Council explores a possible extension of the 2004 half penny tax.
An online public input survey is available at www.CharlestonTransportation.com for those unable to attend an in-person meeting. All feedback collected throughout the ongoing outreach process will be presented to County Council in January and will help guide decision-making regarding the future of the program.
In addition to county-hosted meetings, citizens and community groups can request a meeting to learn more about the TST program and provide feedback. The request form is available at www.CharlestonTransportation.com.
