Fountain Inn Museum Invites Community to Participate in ‘Fountain Inn Cooks’ Photo Gallery Exhibit

February 9, 2026

Every great recipe has a story—and a cook behind it. This spring, the Fountain Inn Museum is inviting the community to help preserve those stories through Fountain Inn Cooks, a special photo gallery exhibit celebrating the people who shaped Fountain Inn’s culinary traditions.

The exhibit will feature photographs and personal stories of local cooks from past generations, honoring the memories, kitchens, and family gatherings that made these meals special. Submitted family recipes will also be compiled into a Fountain Inn Community Cookbook to accompany the exhibit.

Community members are encouraged to submit recipes and photos connected to cooks who lived at least part of their lives in the greater Fountain Inn area. Submissions may include treasured family favorites—from holiday specialties to everyday meals—along with a brief written remembrance of the cook.

Submissions are due by March 10.

Submission guidelines include:

  • One to three recipes

  • Full name of the cook (including maiden name, if applicable)

  • Birth and death years

  • A clear photo or portrait

  • Several sentences about the cook, including family, hobbies, and memories

Submissions may be emailed to [email protected]. For additional information, participants may also call 864-862-2586.

The Fountain Inn Cooks photo gallery exhibit and companion cookbook will debut this spring, offering a meaningful way to preserve and share the flavors—and faces—of Fountain Inn’s past.
