13th Annual Burning of the Socks
March 19 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
The South Carolina Maritime Museum invites the community to its annual Burning of the Socks, a waterfront celebration marking the unofficial start of boating season.
Guests will enjoy an oyster roast and pilau, live music from Transistor Rodeo featuring Rob Williams, and youth sailors on the river before gathering for the traditional winter sock-burning ceremony. The event is family-friendly and open to the public.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a new pair of socks to donate to our friends at Friendship Place, supporting neighbors in need throughout the community.
Tickets are $45 for museum members, $50 for non-members, and $8 for children. Proceeds benefit the museum’s education programs.
Join us for an evening on the harbor as we say goodbye to winter and welcome the spring season ahead.
