A Glorious Cause: Dr. Lee B. Wilson discusses Treason as a Political Weapon

On Wednesday, May 13 at 10:00 a.m. as part of “A Glorious Cause,” the Andrews Library (105 N. Morgan Avenue, Andrews, SC 29510) welcomes historian Dr. Lee B. Wilson, who will share engaging research and anecdotes from her in-progress book about how treason was used as a political weapon during the Revolution. Dr. Wilson is an accomplished historian of the colonial and Revolutionary periods. She is Associate Chair and Associate Professor of History at Clemson University.
The Georgetown County Library (GCL) will host a series of 20 public educational programs and exhibits as part of “A Glorious Cause: South Carolina and the American Revolution: A Public History Initiative of the Georgetown County Library.” The programs, which will be free and open to the public, will take place at each of GCL’s 5 facilities across Georgetown County from March 2026 through June 2026. The project is made possible by a $39,300 Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) administered by the South Carolina State Library (SCSL).
