Westminster Presbyterian Church Hosting Maundy Thursday Tenebrae Service!
April 2 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
The congregation of Westminster Presbyterian Church invites the community to a meaningful Maundy Thursday Service this Thursday at 7:00 p.m., offering a time of reflection during Holy Week.
The service will include a traditional Tenebrae, a solemn and symbolic worship experience that recounts the final hours of Jesus Christ’s earthly life through Scripture and music.
As the service progresses, lights are dimmed and candles are extinguished, symbolizing the growing darkness surrounding the crucifixion. The sanctuary gradually darkens, inviting those in attendance into a quiet and contemplative space that reflects the weight and significance of the moment.
Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper and the events leading up to the crucifixion, making it one of the most reflective services of the Christian calendar. The Tenebrae portion deepens that experience, allowing worshippers to engage with the message in a powerful and personal way.
The community is invited to attend and participate in this special evening of worship as the church prepares for the hope and celebration of Easter.
The service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, located at 1387 Highway 56 South in Clinton, and all are welcome.
