Swedish Midsummer Festival returns to Cypress Gardens
May 28 @ 10:00 am - June 13 @ 2:00 pm
The Annual Swedish Midsummer Festival, hosted by Volvo Cars, returns to Cypress Gardens this year on Saturday, June 13. The event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the park, located at 3030 Cypress Gardens Road in Moncks Corner. This is a rain or shine event.
Midsummer (or “Midsommar” in Swedish) is a Swedish holiday marking the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, and is held in June. A beloved tradition in Scandinavia, the festival is a celebration of the ushering in of light after the long, dark winter.
Experience Swedish culture while exploring the park’s beautiful gardens. The festival will feature a traditional Swedish maypole, flower crowns, food trucks, kids’ activities, a DJ, and more. The first 100 visitors will receive a free flower crown.
The Swedish Midsummer Festival also correlates with Free Saturday for Berkeley County residents. The park will be open for Free Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (last admission is 4 p.m.). Proof of residency with photo ID, utility, or tax bill is required for free admission.
