SC7 + Nature at Work Trail Talks Series. Healthy Places by Design: Nature, Innovation, and the Built Environment

July 2 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Join us for the kickoff of the Nature at Work Trail Talks Series as part of SC7, South Carolina’s monthlong expedition celebrating the state’s natural and cultural landscapes while connecting people to place, health, community, and outdoor experiences.

Hosted by Clemson University and sponsored by Clemson University’s Wood Utilization + Design Institute and Milliken Advisors, this special event is presented in partnership with Nature at Work, the South Carolina Healthy Business Coalition, and SC7. Together, these organizations are exploring how nature, design, forestry, innovation, and leadership intersect to shape healthier people, workplaces, and communities.

The afternoon will begin with a tour of Clemson’s new Forestry and Environmental Conservation Building, followed by a panel conversation featuring Clemson leaders in forestry, environmental conservation, architecture, and design, alongside business leader Trip Chavis of Milliken Advisors. Together, the conversation will explore how the built environment, natural landscapes, and intentional design can support wellbeing, sustainability, resilience, and quality of life.

The program will conclude with a networking reception, offering an opportunity to connect with fellow SC7 participants, Clemson faculty and staff, business leaders, and community partners.
