I’ll be out on the sidewalk in front of Mauldin City Hall collecting signatures for my citizen initiative ordinance to ban the use of Mass Surveillance in the city of Mauldin. I need signatures from people that are Resident of Mauldin AND Registered to Vote.

Flock cameras collect data on your location and create a searchable database the police can search to see where you’ve driven in the last 30 days. They do not need a warrant. I have spoke at the last 3 City Council Meetings and the council has refused to speak on the topic.

This petition is being submitted under state law SECTION 5-17-10. Electors of municipality permitted to propose ordinances. I need to collect 3,100 signatures from registered voters to force city council to vote on my ordinance. If they fail to pass it, or make changes to it, state law requires that it be placed on a ballot for the citizens to vote on.
