A Big Night of Baseball with the Columbia Fireflies was a grand slam for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Columbia

August 10, 2016

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Columbia hosted their first annual summer fundraiser, A Big Night of Baseball with the Columbia Fireflies, on July 29th at Spirit Communications Park.  Volunteers, Board members and the community came out to show their support while watching the game in a VIP suite, enjoying a catered dinner and bidding on prizes during the silent auction. The money raised from the event will be used to help the children and families they serve throughout Richland and Lexington Counties.

“It was great to be able to combine the spirit of the Big Brothers Big Sisters program with one of the hottest tickets in town at a Columbia Fireflies game. Our donors and participants had a great evening and raised funding to help the children of the Midlands at the same time,” said Cristy Marshall, President and CEO.

The event was sponsored by South Carolina Electric & Gas and the night would not have been possible without the donations for our silent auction from: Studio Cellar, The Riverbanks Zoo & Garden, Get Your Gear On, Hand & Stone Massage AND Facial Spa, Let’s Cook Culinary Studio, Cupcake DownSouth, Pelican’s SnoBalls, Uptown Gifts, Vino Garage, Will’s Turn!, Titanic Alley, The Windermere Club, Forest Lake Country Club, Rogers Lewis Jackson Mann & Quinn, LLC, Balsam Mountain Preserve, Barre3 Columbia, Ray Tanner, Terra, Motor Supply Company Bistro and Mr. Friendly’s New Southern Café and BBBSGC Board Members.
