A Child’s Haven receives generous donation through BB&T’s Lighthouse Project

June 13, 2017

Recently, a caravan of vehicles arrived at A Child’s Haven carrying a group of volunteers from BB&T and an incredibly generous amount of donation items. Snack food, pull-ups, and new clothing for the children’s closet began to don every corner of the non-profit’s parent store as eight generous volunteers continued to unload more items, in addition to making a sizeable monetary contribution. The group later enjoyed a personal tour of the less than three-year-old facility to gain insight of the magnitude and impact of their kindness.

With the current support from BB&T, children who attend the center will be able to bring snack bags home by bus every Friday throughout the summer. The additional benefaction donated will be used to meet the needs of the young children and their families, as well as, to provide both integrated and holistic treatment for them.

The BB&T Lighthouse project was established in 2009 when CEO, Kelly King challenged her staff to reach out to communities to provide support during difficult economic times. Today, around 39,000 employees are encouraged to support many non-profit organizations in their local communities by embracing a hands-on approach for living out their mission of making the communities they serve better places to work and to live.

A Child’s Haven is looking forward to continuing their partnership with BB&T and the BB&T Lighthouse Project through many future endeavors.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, A Child’s Haven is a 501(c)(3) organization that treats children with developmental delays as a result of limited resources, abuse, or neglect, and provides support and education for their families.
