A Conversation with Anthony Herrera, Office for Innovation and Entrepreneurship | Furman University
February 17, 2020Anthony Herrera, Executive Director, the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Furman University
The Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Furman University develops entrepreneurial leaders – regardless of major or discipline – and grows a campus culture of innovation. Through events, programs, workshops, mentoring and competitions, they help emerging entrepreneurs move from idea to concept to sustainable business.
The Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship offers a Summer Business & Entrepreneurship Boot Camp. This is a 3-week intensive boot camp for non-business undergraduate students and recent graduates. Attendees learn business basics and develop the skills fundamental to successful entrepreneurship.
The Office also has a Leadership Council. Members of the council are champions of innovation and entrepreneurship at Furman University and also serve as mentors to students and liaisons to the local, regional and national entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Started in the fall of 2018 the Office is one of four institutes at the university. Anthony Herrera is the first Executive Director of this program.
