A Conversation with Laura McGorman, Facebook’s Data For Good team

What can Facebook activity tell us about the area’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic? That’s the subject of new data released recently by Facebook’s Data for Good project and the humanitarian relief organization, Direct Relief. This dashboard comes following a study which showed that Facebook posting activity can reflect whether or not businesses are operating and how their digital behavior is influenced by outside events.

Facebook’s Data for Good team uses a variety of technical tools to help its partners across the globe access data for disaster response, health, connectivity, energy access, and economic growth.
