A M King begins construction on warehouse expansion for Cheney Brothers, Inc.

Carolinas-based A M King, an Integrated Design-Build firm with an established presence in the Upstate, has begun construction on a 72,142-square-foot dry warehouse expansion in Statesville, North Carolina, for leading Southeast-based, broadline food distributor, Cheney Brothers, Inc. (CBI). The expansion, which will bring the facility’s total square footage to 342,126, will provide an additional 7,000 pallet positions and a larger loading dock, further positioning CBI for continued growth in the Carolinas. This facility addition represents A M King’s third major project for CBI in North Carolina. Construction is scheduled for completion in Spring 2022.
In April 2019, A M King completed a 169,090-square-foot cold storage expansion for CBI in Statesville, increasing the square footage at that facility to 265,000 square feet. The award-winning project included design and installation of a state-of-the-art penthouse refrigeration system zoned to support numerous temperature zones in the expansion area; conversion of a 37,388-square-foot existing cold storage space to ambient temperature storage; and renovation of a 34,686-square-foot existing dry warehouse.
