AAF of the Midlands announces call for public service applications
March 27, 2017The American Advertising Federation (AAF) of The Midlands has announced they are accepting applications from nonprofit organizations to become the club’s public service client for 2017-2018. Each year, AAF of the Midlands selects one nonprofit organization in our community and assists them with their marketing and advertising needs.
AAF of the Midlands selected PAALS to serve as public service candidate for 2016-2017. PAALS mission is to enrich and empower children and adults with physical disabilities and social needs through their training of service animals to ultimately provide animal assisted educational and recreational activities. At its core, PAALS trains animals to assist people with varying degrees of disabilities to live more independent and enriched lives by providing them with service dogs. It was important for PAALS to generate further awareness among the Midlands as they felt they were underserving the full potential of the disabled and in need population.
AAF of the Midlands and PAALS reviewed the goals of the business to determine the most beneficial communication initiatives and marketing platforms that would maximize reach to the target markets. As a result, through establishing a message framework and a cohesive brand platform PAALS has further established its brand in new, exciting ways. The collaboration created new resources, ranging in distribution platforms, that will help engage all audiences—existing and new clients, partners and investors, media partners, and the local community. Additionally, AAF of the Midlands established a strategic plan for social media presence that provides the brand with new outlets aligned to the business goals. The experience has been rewarding on both ends— “Being the AAF sponsored charity has been a huge benefit to our PAALS charity. We have a very small staff and no one committed to advertising goals as a paid employee. The AAF support group gave us definite tools to accomplish the hope of broadening our program’s support base. AAF was great at asking for specific needs and responding accordingly!” Jennifer Rogers, Executive Director.
To qualify to become the next public service client applicants must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Richland or Lexington County. The deadline for proposals is Monday, April 24, 2017. Finalists will be notified and asked to make a 5-10 minute presentation to the AAF of the Midlands Board in early May 2017. The selected nonprofit will be notified shortly thereafter and announcement of the winner will be made at the May 2017 AAF of the Midlands monthly luncheon.
