AAF of the Midlands garners top Club Achievement honors in its three state district

April 19, 2017

Local advertising/pr/media organization secures four Club Achievement distinctions as recognition of its commitment to providing quality membership value and community service.

The American Advertising Federation of the Midlands (AAF) is pleased to announce it has garnered four Club Achievement Awards for the 2016-2017 year, taking top honors for its District. AAF of the Midlands merited 1st Place in Public Service, 2nd Place in Diversity and Government Relations and 3rd Place in Programs, earning more Club Achievement awards than any of the other eleven clubs in the tri-state District 3, which covers Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

“The recognition of excellence in these four aspects shows the Board of AAF of the Midlands has excelled over the last year in identifying and ensuring outstanding levels of membership service and engagement, while also providing community enrichment,” said Skot Garrick, current AAF of the Midlands President. “Our Public Service efforts increased awareness and outreach of our non-profit client PAALs, our Diversity Committee created programming to engage minority students and developed a membership recruitment program, career panel series for high schools students, and a diversity scholarship, our Government Relations Committee brought a national level advocate to inform local industry leaders of the current state of the advertising/media business as well as local impact of industry efforts and our Programs Committee held a varied series of events and functions whose increased attendance levels indicated enthusiastic member response.”

Each year, The American Advertising Federation’s Club Achievement competition recognizes its local affiliate advertising clubs for their outstanding accomplishments and dedication to providing events, programs, activities and benefits for their members, the industry and communities. Local individual AAF clubs across the nation can compete in eight different categories (Club Operations, Membership, Public Service, Diversity, Programs, Government Relations, Advertising Education and Communications), competing against other clubs in their respective divisions, to highlight and detail various functions and achievements of the different committees within the organization.
