ACEC-SC and SCDOT announce 2025 Annual Meeting

November 24, 2025

The American Council of Engineering Companies of South Carolina (ACEC-SC), in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), will host the 2025 ACEC-SC/SCDOT Annual Meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

The Annual Meeting brings together consulting engineers and transportation professionals from across South Carolina for a full day of networking and professional development.

This year’s event will feature a morning address from SCDOT Secretary of Transportation Justin Powell and keynotes from Joe Bates and Daphne Bryant of the ACEC Research Institute on the role of AI in engineering, Richie Parker on innovation and leadership, and an SCDOT program update from John Boylston, P.E., and Rob Perry, P.E.

Breakout sessions throughout the day will cover bridge maintenance, highway safety, flood mitigation and emerging approaches to project delivery, offering attendees practical insights and real-world applications across South Carolina’s transportation network.

The event will kick off with a pre-meeting reception on Monday, Dec. 8, from 6–8 p.m., open to all registered attendees. During the Annual Meeting, attendees can also take part in the ACEC-SC Emerging Leaders Board (ELB) Derby Competition.

Registration information, as well as an agenda and speaker lineup, are available at acecsc.org/events.

“The partnership between ACEC-SC and SCDOT is vital to advancing infrastructure across our state,” said Raven Gambrell, P.E., Office Principal at HDR and ACEC-SC Transportation Chair. “This meeting provides an opportunity to exchange ideas, share updates and strengthen that collaboration.”

Beyond advancing partnerships between consultants and SCDOT, the Annual Meeting also provides an opportunity to give back to the community. Attendees are invited to participate in a Toys for Tots collection, rallying member firms and SCDOT employees together to spread holiday cheer to children across South Carolina.

ACEC-SC’s mission is to advocate, advance and protect the business interests of engineering firms and the standards of the engineering profession in South Carolina. For more information or for updates on the conference, visit acecsc.org.
