Aditi Bussells files for re-election to City Council At-Large
August 15, 2025Councilwoman Aditi Bussells officially filed for re-election, pledging to continue her work to strengthen public safety, invest in neighborhoods, and grow opportunities for families and businesses across Columbia. First elected in 2021, Bussells has championed initiatives to improve infrastructure, expand affordable housing, support small businesses, and increase government accountability. She leads the Health Social and Environmental Affairs Committee and serves on the Legislative, Administrative, and Economic Development Committee.
“Columbia is at its best when we work together to find solutions that make life better for every neighbor. I am proud of the progress we have made, and I am ready to keep working to build a safer, stronger and more prosperous Columbia. With more than $1 billion in new investments, thousands of new jobs, a renewed focus on public safety and historic investments in neighborhoods across Columbia, we’ve seen incredible progress, but there’s still more to do. I’m running because I believe Columbia’s best days are still ahead and I want every family to feel safe, supported, and proud to call our city home.”
Bussells emphasized her campaign will focus on real results for Columbia families and collaboration. Dr. Aditi Bussells is a public health researcher and was elected to Columbia City Council At-Large in 2021. Aditi and her husband, Louis Bussells, who is a Nurse Practitioner and veteran of the U.S. Army, have a son, Bodhi, and two dogs.
