Aflac supports 50 South Carolina nonprofits with $411,824 in grants

Aflac awarded $411,824 to 50 South Carolina nonprofit organizations during its 2023 spring and fall grant cycles. Funds support programs and services that promote health and well-being, advance education and build upon Aflac’s commitment to children and families facing cancer.
Since establishing the Aflac Charitable Fund at Central Carolina Community Foundation in 2016, 296 grants totaling more than $2.4 million have been awarded to nonprofits across South Carolina.
“Aflac has a long history of supporting communities where we work and live,” said Bob Ruff, senior vice president, Group Voluntary Benefits, at Aflac, and member of the Central Carolina Community Foundation board of directors. “We celebrate the incredible work of these local charitable organizations and how they are using Aflac contributions to improve neighborhoods and communities across South Carolina.”

The Aflac Charitable Fund was established at Central Carolina Community Foundation to enhance its charitable giving program in South Carolina. The Community Foundation is a centralized point of contact for all grant requests, administration, evaluation, outreach and distribution. Aflac’s grants committee is comprised of a dedicated group of community-minded employee volunteers.
