AFP Central Carolina Chapter program topics support nonprofits through the pandemic

May 26, 2021

The Association of Fundraising Professionals of Central Carolina is halfway through their program year offering nonprofits professional support and resources amid the pandemic. These programs add tremendous value to the daily grind of fundraisers working tirelessly on the frontlines to meet the needs of vulnerable populations.

The Riley Center for Livable Communities at the College of Charleston surveyed hundreds of struggling South Carolina nonprofit organizations on the brink of losing hope. According to an article from The Post and Courier featuring the survey results reported that well-known to smaller nonprofits focusing on basic needs, homeless shelters, and human services are still hurting now more than ever to recover. 2021 AFP Program Chair Mary Dell Hayes is excited about the level of commitment from industry leaders in the nonprofit industry. “Our programs are not just beneficial for current AFP members but also new volunteer board members and professionals who’ve made a career change to the nonprofit industry.” “Speakers present successful fundraising strategies and training resources proven to increase revenue and engage donors.”

Before the pandemic monthly programs were held in person but are currently virtual. Businesses are encouraged to attend in groups for professional development and sponsor nonprofit professionals with 1-year or less experience in development and fundraising.
