AIA Columbia announced their 2020 Board of Directors leadership positions.
Clint Riddle, AIA of LS3P will be stepping forward to serve as President. Clint first joined the Board in 2016 and served as Vice President/President-Elect in 2019. During his tenure, he has served as Board Secretary and Communications Chair. He is looking forward to the exciting events and opportunities AIA Columbia is planning for its membership in the coming year, including the continued relationship with the Clemson University School of Architecture, the Homes by Design series, improved education opportunities for emerging professionals, and the 2020 AIA Columbia Design Awards.
Tara Jerdan, AIA of Boudreaux has graciously accepted the role of Vice President/President-Elect. Tara first joined the Board in 2014. She has served as Treasurer since 2015 and is part of AIA South Carolina’s Equity in Architecture strategic planning team. During her tenure, Tara led the Board through the AIA’s financial repositioning and has been active in AIA Columbia’s biennial Design Awards production and their Clemson University School of Architecture partnership.
Lorraine White, AIA of Pond will begin her Board leadership in dual roles as Treasurer and Secretary. Lorraine joined the Board in 2019 and is looking forward to collaborating with fellow board members in their mission to educate and welcome new architects into the community.
Adriane McGillis, AIA of Stevens & Wilkinson will be transitioning to Past President in 2020. Adriane joined the board in 2016 and her passion has been a great influence. In addition to serving as the 2019 President, Adriane chaired AIA South Carolina’s inaugural Equity in Architecture committee and has been an advocate for celebrating diversity in the section’s programming. Adriane introduced the People’s Choice Design Awards, led the effort to strengthen their relationship with Clemson’s School of Architecture and has kick-started the planning for an upcoming Homes by Design series.
The Homes by Design series will see private, architect-designed residences in the Columbia area opened to the public for tours in the spring of 2020.
