Albrecht to receive Leadership in Law award

Samantha Albrecht, an attorney at Burnette, Shutt & McDaniel, will receive a Leadership in Law award from SC Lawyers Weekly.

The annual honors go to attorneys who have gone above and beyond in serving both their profession and their community. This year, 34 attorneys from across South Carolina are being recognized.

Albrecht’s practice at Burnette Shutt & McDaniel includes education and employment law. She’s taken on powerful institutions, including colleges, on behalf of those victimized by discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation or defamation.

She’s active in professional organizations, including leadership positions with the SC Bar. She serves the community through pro bono legal work and through the Protecting Our Youth Through Legal Education program that strives to make children aware of possible legal consequences of actions and encourages them to make good decisions. Albrecht currently is training for the Chicago Marathon, where she’ll raise money for Autism Speaks.
