American Airlines to begin nonstop service to New York

December 17, 2018

American Airlines has announced nonstop service to New York/LaGuardia (LGA) Airport from Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) beginning May 3, 2019.

The daily service will depart CAE at 6:55 a.m. and will arrive New York at 9:00 a.m. The return flight will depart New York at 9:29 p.m. and will arrive CAE at 11:36 p.m.

The flight times will allow our business travelers to get to New York City in the morning to conduct business and return the same day if needed. And, the schedule is perfect for our travelers who would like to have lunch in New York City, do some shopping, see some sights, and return that evening.

In June, American upgraded their nonstop flights to Dallas to mainline service thus increasing their seat capacity to that market by 40%. American Airlines also provides nonstop service to  Washington National, Philadelphia and Charlotte.

Delta Air Lines also serves CAE with nonstop service to New York and to their hub in Atlanta. United Airlines serves CAE with nonstop service to Chicago, Houston, and Washington Dulles. Via Airlines begins nonstop service to Orlando on December 21.

“We are very excited about this announcement by American, what a great way to end 2018. This route is one that we have discussed with American for some time. The timing is now right and we are pleased with their commitment to CAE and to serving our community,” said Mike Gula, CAE’s Executive Director.
