American Heart Association to celebrate Hard Hats with Heart event

September 28, 2020

The American Heart Association is teaming up with HITT Contracting, SeamonWhiteside and Frampton Construction to raise awareness about heart disease and stroke in the construction industry.

The “Hard Hats with Heart” campaign brings together general contractors, subcontractors, health care and business executives to shine a light on the prevalence of heart disease in the construction industry and showcase how creating a culture of wellness within companies can make a big difference.

More than 15,000 individuals in the Lowcountry are employed in the construction sector, and the need is greater than ever to find a solution and make an impact to save more lives

“Adults in the construction industry have a slightly higher risk of cardiovascular disease compared to other industries, based on lifestyle factors such as smoking, poor nutrition, and lack of physical activity. But the good news is 80% of heart disease and stroke is preventable so we are excited to educate the construction industry about finding ways to live a longer, healthier life,” says Josh VanScoy, Vice President of HITT Contracting and the 2020 Hard Hats with Heart Chair.

This years’ experience is coming to you via the comfort of your office and will feature a panel discussion with top Lowcountry Executives sharing their outlook of the future in South Carolina. The panel includes Josh VanScoy of HITT Contracting, Tom Black of Frampton Construction, Jim Newsome of the S.C. Ports Authority, Tom Crawford of MUSC Health, and Stuart Whiteside of SeamonWhiteSide.

The event is something you won’t want to miss! It will take place via Zoom on September 29th from 3-4 p.m. Fill out the form below to RSVP! Registration Link: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx…
