American Legion Post 25 Continues Toy Drive to Spread Holiday Cheer in Laurens County
November 20, 2024American Legion Post 25 in Laurens is once again spearheading its annual toy drive to bring holiday cheer to local children in need. Following the success of their fifth annual Toy Run, which saw a record turnout and substantial donations, the organization is continuing its efforts to ensure that every child in the community experiences the joy of Christmas.
“This toy drive is about more than just gifts under the tree,” said Kevin Farnsworth, Commander of American Legion Post 25. “It’s about showing families in our community that they are cared for and supported, especially during the holiday season. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference.”
How to Participate
- Donate New, Unwrapped Toys: Community members are encouraged to contribute new, unwrapped toys suitable for children of all ages. These gifts will be distributed to families in need throughout Laurens County.
- Monetary Donations: Financial contributions are also welcome and will be used to purchase additional toys and support the logistics of the toy drive.
Drop-Off Locations
Donations can be delivered to the following locations:
- Laurens High School
- All Laurens middle schools
- Big Air Laurens
- Harper Commons
Each location will have collection boxes where community members can drop off new, unwrapped toys.
The collected toys will be distributed through the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office and the Laurens City Police Department, ensuring they reach families who need them most. In previous years, the toy drive has garnered significant community support, with contributions including over 700 toys and 25 bicycles.
As you get started on your holiday shopping, keep this in mind and grab a toy or two to contribute. Your generosity will help make this holiday season special for many children in our community.
