An Evening of original music with Maia Sharp, Randy Sharp and David Ryan Harris

Songwriters Maia Sharp and Randy Sharp return to the Peace Center for An Evening of Original Music, and they’ll be joined by David Ryan Harris. The intimate, listening-room style concert will be held in Genevieve’s theater lounge, located adjacent to the Peace Concert Hall, on Friday, Jan. 26, at 7:30 p.m.

Maia Sharp is an acclaimed songwriter, with songs recorded by Bonnie Raitt, Trisha Yearwood, Cher, Edwin McCain and Art Garfunkel. Randy Sharp has had hits recorded by Restless Heart, Clay Walker, Alabama and Patti Loveless. As a father/daughter duo, Randy and Maia have enjoyed diverse songwriting careers, working together and separately. The Dixie Chicks’ recording of “Home” is one of their greatest collaborative successes.

David Ryan Harris is most recognized for playing guitar and singing in John Mayer’s band. Harris has also produced, written, and/or performed with the likes of Dave Matthews, India.Arie, Cassandra Wilson and Guy Sebastian—with whom he co-wrote the RIAA platinum-certified “Battle Scars.”

The Songwriter’s Workshop

Saturday, Jan. 27, 10:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. – $150

Part workshop and part master class, this experience is designed to help aspiring songwriters put the finishing touches on their songs. Maia Sharp, Randy Sharp and David Ryan Harris will review and discuss attendees’ songs, provide feedback and share tips on the songwriting process.
