AnMed Health partners with technical college for an additional hiring path
August 22, 2018AnMed Health and Tri-County Technical College have teamed-up for an initiative aimed at improving the recruiting and retention of assistive nursing personnel. AnMed Health has launched a patient care technician (PCT) program in collaboration with the technical college.
“This new program enables AnMed Health to create a path to grow future nurses and allow education for the nursing assistive staff,” according to Shaunda Trotter, vice president of nursing/chief nursing officer. “It opens up the opportunity to target individuals seeking a career in nursing or healthcare.”
Trotter also says that a well-trained nursing assistant can better support the staff nurse which improves efforts to maximize value for our patients and reduce inefficiencies across the continuum of care.
AnMed Health will work collaboratively with community partners in the grant funded-initiative. Students will be selected through the community partners and current AnMed Health nursing assistants will get the chance to attend the classes. Each 6 week class will consist of at least 8 students, who will attend classroom training at Tri-County Technical College and clinical training at AnMed Health.
Anyone interested in applying or hearing more about the PCT program can visit the AnMed Health career site at http://anmedhealth.org/About/Careers or call (864) 512-1864.
