Anna Spatafora joins United Way of Pickens County as Director of Education

United Way of Pickens County is pleased to announce that Anna Spatafora has joined its leadership team as the Director of Education.

Anna comes to United Way of Pickens County with 11 years of non-profit experience. Over the past 11 years, Anna served in multiple capacities at Safe Harbor, including Family Advocate, Prevention Coordinator, and most recently, Director of Education. During her time as Director of Education at Safe Harbor, Anna worked directly with local school districts, school counselors, and teachers to deliver curriculum to fulfill many health and safety standards. Anna graduated in 2012 from Southern Wesleyan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services.

Anna has extensive leadership experience working with students, school districts, faculty, local universities, and many community partners and has a proven track record of creating and developing new, successful programs.

As Director of Education, Anna will manage United Way of Pickens County’s strategic direction and lead its community investment in helping children and youth achieve their potential through education. She will focus on achieving our bold goal of 70% of Pickens County 3rd graders reading on grade level by 2025. “We are thrilled to have such a talented individual join the United Way family and our work to improve the lives of our neighbors and strengthen Pickens County as a whole,” said Julie Capaldi, United Way’s president and CEO.
