Annual Holiday Market in Lancaster, S.C. Selected as a Top 20 Event in the Southeast
June 1, 2015LANCASTER, SC – The Artisans of the Olde English District and Downtown Holiday Market has been selected as one of Southeast Tourism Society’s Top 20 Events for the month of December 2015. The event, held annually on the first Saturday of December, is a partnership project of Avant Garde Center for the Arts and Olde English District Visitors Center and Market. Artisans and visitors from throughout the southeast gather indoors in downtown Lancaster, S.C. to show, sell, and shop for the holiday season.
Southeast Tourism Society is an association dedicated to marketing and promoting travel to and within the Southeast and recognizing the importance of festivals and special events in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. Southeast Tourism Society developed the Top 20 Event program to recognize successful festivals and special events across the Southeast, with independent judges evaluating nominations to identify 20 events across the region each month. Selection as a Southeast Top 20 Event is a validation of an event’s quality and distinction.
Avant Garde Center for the Arts is a non-profit organization which seeks to promote the value of arts and culture to every facet of the community. The Olde English District Visitor Center and Market, located in Richburg, S.C. offers visitors and locals a convenient location to gather information and shop for original artists’ work from the seven counties that comprise the Olde English District.
The Artisans of the Olde English District and Downtown Holiday Market will be held December 5th, 2015 and sponsors include Mitch Norrell and Mandy Powers-Norrell, Lancaster Woman’s Club, The Visual Storykeeper Studio, City of Lancaster, Jerry Temple Audio, and Bob Doster’s Backstreet Studio.
