Artist in Residence Monica Cioppettini

December 2, 2025

From November 23 to December 20, 2025, 701 CCA welcomes Monica Cioppettini as our Artist-in-Residence. Monica is a multidisciplinary artist whose work breathes new life into discarded jewelry and found objects, transforming them into evocative pieces that explore identity, memory, and the stories embedded in everyday items.

About Monica:
Monica holds a B.F.A. in Fine Art from Monmouth University and an M.F.A. in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Her work has been showcased in solo and group exhibitions across New York, New Jersey, and Georgia. Currently based in Savannah, GA, Monica’s artistic practice is deeply rooted in the act of collecting and reimagining forgotten treasures from thrift shops and flea markets.

Her Artistic Vision:
Monica’s creations are a testament to the beauty of the overlooked and discarded. She meticulously scavenges for jewelry and trinkets, each piece carrying traces of its previous owner’s identity. Through deconstruction and reconstruction, Monica crafts narratives that reflect on the cycle of production, consumption, and the sentimental value of objects. Her work invites viewers to consider the stories behind these items and the lives they once adorned.

Don’t miss the opportunity to engage with Monica’s unique perspective and witness her creative process during her residency. Stay tuned for updates and events featuring her transformative art!
