AT&T Continues to Expand Nation's Fastest 3G Network in South Carolina

COLUMBIA, SC – February 18, 2009 –  As people’s lives become increasingly mobile and fast-paced, AT&T is expanding its South Carolina network to help customers keep up with the speed of life. AT&T announced today it plans to add new cell sites throughout South Carolina in 2009, and launch its 3G service in Florence. The planned sites are part of AT&T’s ongoing expansion of its 3G network, the nation’s fastest 3G network, according to recent data compiled by leading independent wireless research firms.

From 2006 to 2008, AT&T’s total capital investment in South Carolina was nearly $875 million. As part of the its 2009 investment, AT&T plans to expand its 3G footprint in Columbia, Charleston, Greenville and Spartanburg and launch 3G service in Florence and Anderson, totaling more than 195 cell site activations.
